The UNITED Table – How to Eat at Least Seven Fish in One Sitting

This event is a general admission fully seated event in the Black Box. Seating is guaranteed but location of seating is first-come first-served. Each ticket includes a tasting of some prepared bites (please be aware of any allergies). All tickets are non-refundable, non-exchangeable.

Join us for a captivating evening celebrating the Feast of the Seven Fishes, presented by Eating with the Ecosystem in our next installment of the UNITED Table series. This event will focus on the rich history of Italian-American traditions in Westerly, Rhode Island, while promoting sustainable seafood practices. Guest chefs will include Renee Toupance (Oyster Club, Port of Call); Justin Curneal (Nana’s Westerly), and Andrew Brooks (Weekapaug Inn).

As we gather to honor this beloved holiday tradition, the evening will feature a panel discussion that delves into the history and cultural significance of the Feast of the Seven Fishes within our local community. Esteemed panelists will share stories, insights, and personal experiences that highlight the importance of this tradition in bringing families and friends together during the festive season.

Following the discussion we’ll enjoy a taste and raise a glass together to celebrate the holiday season. Guests will enjoy a curated tasting experience featuring seven exquisite bites of seafood dishes, each crafted by our talented local chefs. These dishes will showcase sustainable seafood sourced from local fisheries, emphasizing the importance of making mindful culinary choices. As this event will have more food served than our usual United Table discussions, we have raised the price accordingly.

The UNITED Table series is a new culinary entertainment series presented by The United Theatre to celebrate the food we eat and the creative, hardworking people who take the care and thought in preparing and presenting that food, preserving its history, and filling our lives with the tastes, smells, and experiences that bring people together. Through conversations, tastings, book talks, food fests, and screenings from the culinary cineverse, The UNITED Table invites you to pull up a chair. Bon appétit!
