Sono Lino – RIIFF Screening w/Shorts
The Rhode Island International Film Festival presents a screening of the feature film Son Linno along with selected short films prior to the feature. The UNITED is thrilled to be a screening location for the Festival which runs throughout various RI venues celebrating independent cinema from August 6-11.

Lino Tagliapietra began his journey with glassblowing at the age of 11 as a factory worker in Murano, Italy. Now at 88, he prepares for his final hot shop session while grappling with age, identity and the struggle of watching his protégés continue his legacy as his famed career comes to a close.
Shorts: Prior to the feature, two short films will be screened. The first will be Classmates directed by Major Dorfman (19 min. | United States) – An apathetic teenager is dropped off on the outskirts of town to work on a project with the school outcast. The two boys form an unlikely connection, but not without consequences. The second will be Dawn Every Day directed by Amir Youssef (20 min. | Egypt) – Set in 1956, 8 year old Nabil navigates through new social norms he cannot fathom that impact his next door best friend in post nationalized Egypt. Inspired by true events.
