Roots Music Stomp – Franco-American Fiddling with Donna Hebert
Join us for the November edition of Roots Music Stomp – hosted by Craig Edwards and this month featuring Franco-American fiddler Donna Hebert.
Donna’s half-century of fiddling encompasses her founding contributions to the New England Contradance revival as a member of the band Yankee Ingenuity, decades of leading the Philadelphia Folk Festival’s youth fiddle orchestra The Great Groove Band, her work with an older generation of Franco-American fiddlers, and much more. She’s one of the most respected fiddle teachers in the country, and her “Fiddling Demystified” approach to teaching has opened the door to traditional fiddle to countless musicians. ABOUT ROOTS MUSIC STOMP & CRAIG EDWARDS
Roots Music Stomp is a monthly series of performances hosted by Craig Edwards, who has been called “A walking encyclopedia of American Roots Music.” Craig sings and plays Appalachian Old Time, Blues, Bluegrass, Cajun, Celtic, Chanteys, Folk, Roots Rock, Swing, Zydeco, and more on fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and button accordion. Each month guest musicians who are experts in one or more of these musical traditions will collaborate with Craig as we explore the rich tapestry of traditional social music that underpins America’s vibrant musical culture.
