Roots Music Stomp – Bob Dylan 85th Birthday Bash

UNITED Gallery Events Space

Join us for the April edition of Roots Music Stomp featuring a special celebration of the music of Bob Dylan.

Bob Dylan, born on May 24th, 1941, stands astride the popular understanding of American folk and roots music like no other figure in the last half-century. His immersion in the catalogue of traditional music fueled his development as a songwriter, and his use of that knowledge has sparked strong reactions ranging from worship to admiration and imitation to controversy and even rage. He pioneered the role of singer/songwriter/performer in ways that transformed American folk and popular music, transforming himself into various guises in the process to create an unrivalled legacy that led to his being awarded the Pulitzer Prize for literature. On Wednesday, May 20th, area musicians Craig Edwards, John Speziale, Sandy Allen, Brad Bensko, Jaime Duquette, and Lucas Neil will explore a range of his tremendous body of work in honor of his 85th birthday.
