GALLERY OPENING — PRINTMAKERS Network of Southern New England

This exhibition of artworks highlights the newest collaborative work of the artists of the
Printmakers Network; The “Pearls Portfolio,”created in celebration of the group’s thirtieth
anniversary as an organization. Additional prints from members of the group will also be on
view.

Founded in 1992 through the coordinated efforts of local printmakers and the Connecticut
Commission on the Arts, PNSNE’s first public exhibition was held at Bradley International
Airport, Hartford, CT in 1993. Entitled “Tools of the Printmaker,” the exhibit not only displayed
original hand pulled prints, but also displayed various tools and materials used by the
printmakers to create the prints. Since its founding, PNSNE has mounted more than fifty group
exhibitions in venues throughout southern New England and beyond, including Washington
D.C.; North Bethesda, MD; and Guangzhou, China. Reviews and feature articles have appeared
in the Journal of the Print World, New England’s ArtScope Magazine,Hartford Courant, Mark
Twain Museum News and The Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich Connecticut which is the
repository of the PNSNE archives. Membership in PNSNE is by invitation.

The Printmakers’ Network of Southern New England (PNSNE) is a group of established and
emerging printmakers currently living in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts,Vermont and
New York. These artists create prints with diverse subject matter that employ a wide range of
processes and techniques associated with both traditional and contemporary printmaking. In
today’s rapidly evolving field of contemporary printmaking, PNSNE facilitates the exchange of
information, provides a platform for discussion ofnew standards, and artistic collaboration
among its members. At the same time, PNSNE promotes the appreciation of the art of
printmaking to the general public.

PNSNE has produced nine portfolios, one hand-bound collection of three artist
books, two instructional videos and four exhibit catalog books. The group also
conducts educational demonstrations, print workshops, gallery talks, and Zoom presentations.
