Ponyo
Join us for our next Food on Film pairing with Owl and Dove restaurant in downtown Pawcatuck and a screening of Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo at the UNITED. First, head over to Owl and Dove (between 5-7pm) to enjoy a special family-friendly, Ponyo themed menu featuring Little Fish Sticks; Soft Shell Crab Curry Katsu; “It’s Ham” Sandwiches, and “It’s Haaaaaaaaaam!” Ramen – then head over to the UNITED to enjoy a screening of Ponyo at 7pm. Ponyo centers on the friendship between five-year-old Sosuke and a magical goldfish named Ponyo – the young daughter of a sorcerer father and a sea-goddess mother. After a chance encounter, Ponyo yearns to become a human so she can be with Sosuke. As to be expected with Miyazaki, the film is awash in pure unbridled imagination and visual wonder — but it is the tender love, humor, and devotion exhibited by Ponyo and Sosuke that form the emotional heart of the film.
Both the meal at Owl and Dove and tickets for the film are separate. The Owl and Dove special menu is below and can be purchased at the restaurant before the film (between 5-7pm). For tickets to the screening of the film itself, click the tickets link below.
