The UNITED and Martin House Books host the Emmy Award winning, New York Times bestselling legend Susan Lucci for a live talk discussing her new, bestselling memoir La Lucci. Susan, known for her role as Erica Kane on All My Children will be in conversation with bestselling author Deborah Goodrich Royce, who played Erica Kane’s sister Silver Kane on the series in the late ‘80s.

There is one ticketing option for this event: General Admission (WITH BOOK) – $52. Additional copies of La Lucci, as well as a selection of Deborah’s books will be available to purchase at the event. There is an additional add-on for a photo (to be taken by UNITED staff on ticket buyer’s cell phone) with Susan after the event for $25 (capped at 150). Please note that Susan will not be personalizing books at the event.

SUSAN LUCCI is an Emmy Award winning actress and New York Times best-selling author, entrepreneur, and advocate for women’s heart health as the American Heart Association’s Ambassador for the Go Red for Women movement. As the most famous face in daytime television history, Susan Lucci held audiences spellbound for years as the sexy, sassy, beautiful, “woman you love to hate,” Erica Kane on ABC-TV’s, ALL MY CHILDREN. In May 1999, after 19 nominations, she won the Emmy Award for “Best Actress,” a well-documented historic moment not only for Lucci, but for all of television. 

Shortly thereafter, she made her Broadway debut to rave reviews playing the part of “Annie Oakley” in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN. Subsequently, she made her nightclub debut as she opened the season at the famed Feinstein’s at The Regency, and afterwards, toured the country with Regis Philbin. She has performed in such iconic concert halls as Carnegie Hall, The Kravis Center, and Heinz Hall with Marvin Hamlisch. Susan also starred in Gloria Estefan’s hit music video, HOTEL NACIONAL – and you can see her in Sia’s holiday music video, SANTA’S COMING FOR US. Susan then went on to star in the international hit Lifetime series, DEVIOUS MAIDS as the wealthy and effervescent socialite, Genevieve Delatour. She was the host and narrator of the highly rated series, DEADLY AFFAIRS on Investigation Discovery and played the role of Danica in the 2015 Oscar-nominated film, JOY. 

Susan has a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame. She is the second woman in the history of the Columbus Day parade to serve as Grand Marshal – the first was Sophia Loren. Susan is proud to have received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor and to serve as an Ambassador for the National Women’s Museum in Washington, DC. She has been honored with the Disney Legends Award for her contribution to Disney’s reputation for creative excellence. Susan was also named one of E! Entertainment’s “Top Entertainers of the Year”; one of Barbara Walters’ “Ten Most Fascinating People; and one of VH-1’s “200 Greatest Pop Icons” coming in at number 75.

Susan Lucci’s contributions to television and the performing arts have earned her countless prestigious industry awards including being ranked by TV Guide as one of the “50 Greatest Television Stars Of All Time,” and in 2023 she received the Daytime EMMY’s prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award.” Currently, she is appearing on stage off- Broadway in Joy Behar’s hilarious new comedy, “My First Ex-Husband.” In 2011, she released her New York Times best-selling autobiography, ALL MY LIFE. Currently Susan serves as The American Heart Association’s National Spokesperson for the Go Red for Women Movement. Susan currently appears alongside Keanu Reeves in the Apple Original Film, Outcome.

Deborah writes a book column for Providence Monthly and Hey Rhody magazines. She began as an actress on All My Children and in films, before transitioning to the role of story editor at Miramax Films, developing Emma and early versions of Chicago and A Wrinkle in Time.

Deborah holds a bachelor’s degree and two honorary doctorates, from both Lake Erie College and the University of Rhode Island. With her husband, Chuck, Deborah restored the Avon Theatre, Ocean House Hotel, Deer Mountain Inn, United Theatre, Martin House Books, and numerous Main Street revitalization projects. She serves on multiple governing and advisory boards.
