Kara McKee – Love and Guts Album Release Show

Kara McKee returns to the UNITED for a very special Nashville North showcase celebrating the release of her debut full-length album, Love and Guts. A Cumberland native and former contestant on NBC’s The Voice (Team Legend, Season 22), McKee blends folk, Americana, and indie influences to deliver songs that are both emotionally direct and sonically rich.

Love and Guts was co-produced in Nashville and features contributions from members of Kacey Musgraves’ and Watchhouse’s touring bands. The album’s lead single, “Goodbye,” is already resonating with audiences for its heartfelt take on personal loss and the passage of time. Written in memory of McKee’s grandmother, the track highlights the storytelling strength that defines her work.
McKee began her musical journey in Rhode Island, singing in church choirs and harmonizing with family at gatherings. After building a career in Boston’s corporate world, she made the leap into music full-time in 2021, leading to national TV exposure, grant support from Club Passim, and a growing presence on the Americana circuit.
Now based between New England and Nashville, McKee has toured across the U.S. and earned a reputation for her intimate performances and clear artistic voice. This special album release show at the United Theatre marks the official launch of Love and Guts, and offers Rhode Island audiences an early look at a rising artist in the folk/Americana scene.
This event is part of the UNITED’s “Nashville North” initiative, a dynamic cultural exchange bringing Country and Americana music to Rhode Island from around the U.S. and celebrating Nashville’s iconic music scene through a series of educational, artistic, and performance programs from partners in Nashville and beyond.
