Fun-Raiser with Boatcake – Benefiting Friends of the Westerly Animal Shelter

Join us for a night of dancing and live music from Boatcake to benefit the Friends of the Westerly Animal Shelter as part of the UNITED Fun-Raiser Concert Series. Boatcake will be playing adult contemporary songs, from rock to country. Art Smith and Patrick Cozzolino have been a duo for about 12 years and are one of the most popular bands on the region’s pub circuit.

The Fun-Raiser series brings together local bands and local charities. Last year, a concert with Wooly Mammoth benefited the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center and the Stonington Education Fund. More concerts will be held this year. This is an opportunity to stop by after work and listen to some great tunes, all to benefit a local charity. A cash bar will be available. The doors open at 6 and the band plays at 6:30 p.m.

ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF THE WESTERLY ANIMAL SHELTER

Founded in 2012, the non-profit Friends group provides the Westerly Animal Shelter with whatever it needs that’s not supported by the town budget. Those services include emergency vet care and surgery, behavioral training and pet food. In 2023, the Friends paid for more than $22,000 in medical bills for the animal shelter and nearly $5,000 in food for kittens.
