About the Band, Johnny and the East Coast Rockers:

Where people are swinging in Rhode Island and Connecticut, Johnny and The East Coast Rockers are playing. A premiere Rhythm and Blues dance band in the Northeast for over 30 years, Johnny MacLeod and his band perform original tunes and favorite covers from the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s in an eclectic mix, that combines elements of traditional blues, swing, jazz, R&B, roots rock and country. Johnny and The East Coast Rockers unique output appeals to a wide range of musical tastes and their upbeat approach keeps the audience out on the dance floor.

About the instructor, Jody Rudnick:

Jody comes from Ball Room lineage and was dancing before she could walk. Hailing originally from Providence, RI, she’ll go anywhere to find great music. Her experience ranges from Zydeco and Swing to all the Latin dances. Jody’s teaching philosophy is FUN first while engaging and entertaining her students. She has taught at the Rhythm and Roots, Strawberry Park and Fort Lauderdale Crawfish Festivals as well as MassMoca Arts Center and Woonsocket Mardi Gras. She currently teaches private lessons.

Judging the competition is Jody Rudnick, Louis Toscano, Trish Barber, Lisa Konicki and Louise Bishop
