Dance Night at The Knick with The Hoolios

Knickerbocker Music Center
The Hoolios bring the rhythm to the Knick for the return of dance night, an evening of swing on the storied Knick dance floor. Dance Night at the Knick will be a monthly series featuring a different live act, from swing and big band to soul, roots, jazz, and other styles that invite you to get up, get loose, and dance however the music moves you.
With roots in Americana, rock, folk, zydeco, and beyond The Hoolios have crafted a signature sound at once familiar and refreshingly unique. Founded by songwriter and producer Jim Carpenter (vocals, guitar), the band brings together a seasoned lineup featuring Ronnie Lewis (vocals, drums), Billy Light (slide guitar), Sandy “Sandman” Allen (vocals, mandolin, washboard), Dave Allen & Dan Corbett (vocals, bass), and Doc Westchesterson (vocals, accordion, keys). Their extensive discography Rosalie, Silver Triangle, The Dream, God Invents Rock n Roll, The Rose Of His Tattoo, Poor Girl’s Dream, In The Shadows Of Dixie showcase Carpenter’s songwriting and the band’s dynamic musicianship. Notable performances include: Mohegan Sun Wolf Den, Cafe Nine, Arch Street Tavern, Eugene O’Neil Theater, Block Island Music Fest, Hygienic Art Park, Black-Eyed Sallys, The Tower, Hungry Tiger, Pub on Park, and Blue Monday Concert Series.
Please note that the Knick no longer has a working kitchen. Pre-packaged concession snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase (cashless payments only) and this event will include a limited bar featuring a selection of pre-packaged beers, wines, and canned cocktails (also cashless payments only).
