Gary Burr is an award winning songwriter responsible for some of the greatest Pop and Country songs of the last three decades. Born in Meriden, CT, he fell in love with music when he went to the original Woodstock festival and decided to take a shower and then start a band. A broken leg placed him in a body cast for three months so he took that opportunity to learn the guitar and take a crash course in songwriting from the albums he had next to his bed, Carole King, Pure Prairie League and, of course, The Beatles. Fun side note: As his career progressed he ended up the lead singer in Pure Prairie league replacing Vince Gill, touring the world singing and playing with Carole King and writing six albums with Ringo Starr. He was working as an electrician when he penned his first hit, Juice Newton’s pop wonder, “Loves Been A Little Bit Hard On Me.” Since moving to Nashville at the end of the 80’s, Gary has written fourteen #1 hits, he has been inducted to the Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame and has been ASCAP, Billboard and NSAI’s songwriter of the year. Gary’s songs have been recorded by such diverse artists as Faith Hill, Ringo Starr, Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Carole King, Reba, Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilara to name just a few. Gary has released four solo records and was a member of the group Blue Sky Riders along with his wife, hit songwriter Georgia Middleman and Kenny Loggins. In July of 2024, Gary released his first novel, “Reunion” – a “what if” fairy tale about The Beatles reuniting for one final concert. For more information on Gary, visit www.garyburr.com
Georgia Middleman is an award-winning Nashville songwriter who has had her songs recorded by Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Joe Nichols, Martina McBride, Sheila E., Radney Foster, Maia Sharp, Sherrié Austin and many others. Her song “When The Right One Comes Along” was featured in the ABC television show “Nashville.” Georgia has sung backup for Carole King, Joe Walsh and Ringo Starr and recorded five solo cds of her own; her latest being an acoustic cd of her most requested songs called “Requests.” From 2012-2018, she toured with Blue Sky Riders – a country-rock trio made up of Georgia, Gary Burr and pop icon, Kenny Loggins. Blue Sky Riders wrote, recorded and released two full-length cds, “Finally Home” and “Why Not” on their own record label, 3Dream Records. When not performing solo, you can also see Georgia on stage as half of the duo, Middleman Burr along with her husband Gary Burr. For more about Georgia visit www.georgiamiddleman.com
Victoria Shaw’s songs have been staples on the charts since the early ‘90s. Victoria’s #1 compositions include, Garth Brooks, “THE RIVER” and “SHE’S EVERY WOMAN,” Ricky Martin’s “SO’LO QUIERO AMARTE”, Doug Stone’s, “TOO BUSY BEING IN LOVE”, Jim Brickman’s “SENDING YOU A LITTLE CHRISTMAS” and “I LOVE THE WAY YOU LOVE ME,” recorded by John Michael Montgomery and Boyzone). Other hits include Eric Church’s “TWO PINK LINES”, Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera’s duet “NOBODY WANTS TO BE LONELY” and the Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood duet “WHERE YOUR ROAD LEADS”. Victoria is the recipient of an ACM award for Song of the Year, two daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Original Song, four Emmy nominations and numerous ASCAP and SESAC awards. She has performed throughout the world, including opening for Garth Brooks in Central Park, playing the London Palladium and most recently touring with her friend and frequent collaborator, Jim Brickman. In addition to writing and performing, Victoria co-produced Lady Antebellum’s debut CD for which she won a 2009 CMA award. In 2019 Victoria became the host of her own series “SONGWRITERS UNDER THE COVERS with VICTORIA SHAW” on The All Arts Channel. You can watch season 1 & 2 on the All Arts TV app. On November 6, 2024, Victoria was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Victoria’s passion is music and “trying to save the world”, but the loves of her life are her daughters Ruby & Ava. For more information on Victoria please visit her Instagram.
ABOUT THE BLUEBIRD CAFE
Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe is a small but mighty venue where up-and-coming songwriters and artists build their careers and rise to fame. Over the past 43 years, the tiny room has evolved into one of the most significant music venues in the world where all songwriters are welcomed and supported, from novice to established hit-makers. Artists such as Kathy Mattea, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and Taylor Swift have had career moments along with countless hit songwriters whose music is represented on a wide range of charts.
A typical show at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville features 3 or 4 songwriters performing “in the round,” a format made famous at the club where the performers take turns playing their original music, sharing the stories behind their songs, accompanying each other instrumentally, and vocally. The venue’s “SHHHH” policy establishes it as a listening room where audience members are encouraged to pay attention to the song itself – and since it accommodates only 86 people per show, the demand is high, and tickets sell out in minutes.
Over 80,000 people visit the venue annually; many of them as a result of seeing The Bluebird Cafe on television, in news pieces, The Foo Fighters’ documentary, Sonic Highways, the feature film, The Thing Called Love, or on the ABC hit drama, Nashville. The Bluebird Cafe has been featured in publications such as Southwest Spirit, National Geographic Traveler, The New York Times and Rolling Stone magazine where the club was voted one of the Top 10 Best Clubs in America. The venue’s history was featured in the 2019 documentary, BLUEBIRD, available on streaming channels including iTunes and Amazon. For more information bluebirdcafe.com.
