Billy Gilman
Westerly-born Billy Gilman, two-time Grammy-nominated Country music artist, and recent runner-up on NBC’s The Voice is set to play his first ever headlining show at the UNITED on Valentine’s weekend – Friday, February 16th at 7:30pm. Opening up for Gilman will be another former Voice contestant from Rhode Island – folk and americana singer/songwriter Kara McKee.
ABOUT BILLY GILMAN
Gilman, who has sold 10 million records and won an American Music Award and four Billboard Music Awards, scored over 45 million views on YouTube in four short months during his run on The Voice and charted several iTunes number-one singles. He has a recording contract with Pinecastle Records and has recently completed recording his first Bluegrass album. “This record isn’t just a one-time thing,” he said. “This is where my heart is right now. I plan to get to know everyone I can in the industry, to put the work in, and make many more bluegrass albums in the years to come.”
ABOUT KARA MCKEE
Described as having “smart and cool” musicality by EGOT award winner John Legend, Kara McKee’s soulful voice has been heard in a range of settings from sold out shows at renowned Club Passim to audiences of dignitaries including FLOTUS Michelle Obama. Kara is a Rhode Island based singer-songwriter who delivers heartfelt stories punctuated with clear and dynamic vocals, drawing on influences ranging from Lori McKenna to Yola to every one of the Traveling Wilburys. In 2022 Kara made her television debut on NBC’s The Voice, earning a coveted spot on Team Legend with her rendition of Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock”. Blake Shelton remarked that Kara “tore down a wall” by winning John Legend over with her folk rock / Americana style.
ABOUT BRAIDEN SUNSHINE
Braiden Sunshine, a 23-year-old singer and songwriter from Lyme CT was captivated by music early on in life. He started performing at age 8. Then at 15, he auditioned for Season 9 of NBC’s ‘The Voice.’ He chose to be on Gwen Stefani’s Team, where he was voted through to the semi-final round. Recently, Braiden has been working in the studio, writing and recording a few new singles which will be available early this summer to all major streaming services. Check out his socials for details.
