A year after selling out The UNITED, the Wood Brothers are back for a May 10 show.

Brothers Chris (upright bass) and Oliver Wood (acoustic and electric guitars), as well as multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix,  play a combination of folk, gospel, blues and jazz.

The brothers grew up in Boulder, Colo., listening to bluesmen such as Jimmy Reed and Lightnin’ Hopkins. Oliver sended up playing in a band that released six albums of blues-inflected R&B, funk and country.  Chris, meanwhile, studied jazz bass at the New England Conservatory of Music.

After pursuing separate musical careers for some 15 years, the brothers performed together at a show in North Carolina on May 24, 2001. They released their first album, “Ways Not To Lose,” five years later.

In 2013, “The Muse” provided the band with their first Billboard chart success, hitting the folk, country, indie and rock charts. The band’s next album, “Paradise” reached number 1 on the Top Heatseekers chart, and number 12 on the US Country music chart. The Wood Brothers’ sixth album, “One Drop of Truth,” was nominated for the Best Americana Album award at the 61st Grammy Awards.

Lindsay Lou, called “the next bluegrass queen” by Rolling Stone, opens. Lou is on tour for her deeply affecting, personal album, Queen of Time, her Kill Rock Stars debut. The songs find Lou following a path of heartbreak, discovery, and transformation following a divorce, the pandemic lockdowns and the death of her beloved grandmother. Produced by Dave O’Donnell (Sheryl Crow, Heart, James Taylor) and mixed by Tucker Martine (First Aid Kit, Madison Cunningham), the album features a Who’s Who of Lou‘s friends from the Americana and bluegrass community: Billy Strings, Sam Bush, Sierra Ferrell, Jerry Douglas, Molly Tuttle, Greensky Bluegrass, Peter Rowan, and Leftover Salmon.
