Bruce Harris returns to the UNITED stage for a live concert celebrating the music, legacy, and 100th anniversary of Louis Armstrong’s Hot Five.

The music Louis Armstrong created in the 1920s with his small group, The Hot Five, remains some of the most influential, timeless, and joyous music of the 20th century—and beyond. While Armstrong is still best known as the beloved entertainer behind classics like “What a Wonderful World” and “Hello, Dolly,” the records he made in the 1920s fundamentally changed the trajectory not only of jazz but of American popular music as a whole. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Armstrong’s first Hot Five recording session, trumpeter Bruce Harris has assembled a band of all-star musicians to pay tribute to these masterpieces. Additionally, GRAMMY-winning author Ricky Riccardi will be present to discuss the historic significance of the Hot Five, sharing stories behind the songs and showcasing rare photographs from the research collections of the Louis Armstrong House Museum. This evening will definitively demonstrate why Pops remains Tops!
