Roots Music Stomp – Sandol Astrausky and Rory MacLeod

Join us for the October edition of Roots Music Stomp – hosted by Craig Edwards and this month featuring Sandol Astrausky and Rory MacLeod – teachers of the Old Time String Band class at Brown University.

Sandol Astrausky (fiddle) and Rory MacLeod (banjo, guitar, bass) teach the Old Time String Band class at Brown University in Providence, RI. The class incorporates both students and community members, and creating musical community is at the heart of their mission. They’ve performed and taught from Maine to Arizona, and in numerous bands- in addition to playing together in several old time string bands, Sandol played fiddle in Craig’s first string band, and Rory played bass in Jack Smith and the Rockabilly Planet and Roomful of Blues for several years.
